Poetry reading with Deborah Bernhardt and Hannah Fries

Deborah Bernhardt's poetry collection Echolalia was published by Four Way Books as winner of the Intro Prize for Poetry. Her chapbook Driftology won the New Michigan Press/DIAGRAM Chapbook Prize. Her poems have appeared in American Letters & Commentary, New American Writing, TriQuarterly, Verse Daily, and elsewhere. She received two fellowships from the Fine Arts Work Center, Provincetown and fellowships/grants from the Wisconsin Institute for Creative Writing, Wisconsin Arts Board, the Oscar Williams and Gene Derwood Fund, Penn State Altoona, the Tennessee Arts Commission, Writers@Work, Summer Literary Seminars in Russia and the Hessen Literary Society, Germany.


Hannah Fries is the author of the poetry collection Little Terrarium as well as the book Being with Trees. From 2005 to 2014, she worked as an editor at Orion magazine. Currently, she is a senior editor at Storey Publishing, an imprint of Workman, part of Hachette Book Group, where she acquires and edits books for kids and adults in the science & nature category. She has an MFA from Warren Wilson College, and her poetry and prose have appeared in such places as American Poetry Review, Massachusetts Review, Terrain.org, and EcoTheo Review. Her work has been nominated for the Pushcart Prize, and she was awarded a scholarship from the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference. Hannah lives in Sandisfield with her husband and two sons.
